Hello from the 2009 VMEA In-Service Conference

Posted by jamesfrankel on November 19th, 2009

Today I am in beautiful Hot Springs, VA on behalf of SoundTree at the 2009 VMEA In-Service Conference. This is my first time presenting at this conference, and I am really looking forward to it. I will be presenting 3 sessions: Finding Funds for Music Technology, Music Technology PC Style, and Designing, Building & Implementing a Music Technology Lab. Two of these sessions are brand new ones, and it is always exciting to work up a new session - especially when the topics are very important to music educators. I am down here with my good friend Robin Hodson, who is the Mid-Atlantic Accounts Manager for SoundTree. He is also presenting three sessions, and we will both be meeting music educators in the SoundTree booth throughout the conference.

As always, I have created a special landing page for this event, and over the next few days, I will be adding more content to it - including all of session materials (as well as Robin Hodsons) and podcasts. If you are down here at VMEA, please stop by and say hello. If you’re not - be sure to make plans to attend next year!

Hey James! It’s Claudia from your TC Int/Adv Music Tech class last year. I read your blog a lot and I really, really, really appreciate this one. I checked out your Finding Funds presentation and I find it so helpful. I’ve written grants before with absolutely no luck. I especially found the book very helpful. Now that I’m on maternity leave for the semester I’m going to get to work on finding some money for my kids. Thanks so much! Oh and congratulations on ATMI!
